The Southeastern Colorado Area Health Education Center (SECAHEC),
created in 1978, is one of six such centers throughout the state of
Colorado which make up the Colorado Area Health Education system.
This system in Colorado and in all other states is part of a national
AHEC system established by Congress in 1972.
SECAHEC serves 16 counties in Southern Colorado, providing
health care education for consumers, training for health care
providers and students studying to enter the health care system and
undertaking programs to encourage more people, especially children and
young adults to choose some aspect of the health care field as a
career.
Primary funding for these programs includes contracts and
from other health care organizations. |
