Promoting Preceptor Experience for Students
In the health care field,
preceptors are experts or specialists, such as
physicians, nurses, pharmacists and dentists who
provide practical experience and training
opportunities for students in those health care
fields.
Time spent with preceptors is a crucial
component of health care education and
professional development.

University of Colorado Medical School in
Denver
as well as other health professional schools
have strong preceptor
programs throughout the state.
In
Southeastern Colorado,
SECAHEC participates

by identifying health care
professionals throughout its region who are
willing to serve in this capacity. Placement of
students with preceptors is completed by the
individual health professional programs based on
student and preceptor schedules.
